Now Every Home Can Come With Storm Water Protection

Every new home can now come with its own storm water protection program which will help protect local streams and beaches from pollution which costs Australia in excess of an estimated $1.4 billion a year.

In an unusual awareness campaign the environmental website the Greenweb in conjunction with The Green Plumbers has released the Storm Water Puzzle on the web complete with running water.

The release of the Reln Nviro Pit, which costs under $170.00, filters out rubbish and foreign material from storm water before it leaves the individual residences and enters the storm water system.

Mr Ron Smith, Managing Director of the Green Webb, which is promoting the products throughout Australia said, "This is a simple, affordable, effective approach to storm water quality protection. It can be introduced as part of a long term environmental strategy."

Mr Smith said that the unit has a similar basket to a swimming pool filter and the home owner can easily clean out the filter within a couple of minutes each month.

The installation of these units means that everyone is involved automatically helping to protect water quality in local streams stopping the problem of rubbish and silt before it enters the storm water system.
