About the Green Web.
The Green Web has a simple mission. It is a meeting place for concepts, campaigns, ideas and products which are linked to the improvement of the environment and social well being.
The internet is one of the most important technology developments we have seen in our life time. Unfortunately as a global community we have not optimised the good things it can do.
Our site as you will see carries a variety of information including a major site on child accident prevention with Kidsafe and one of Australia's most famous children's characters, Freddo Frog, who appears with the assistance of Cadburys in support of creating an awareness of child accident prevention.
Green Web Gardening.
The creation of Green Web Gardening is a new addition to our site and has been born from the universal enjoyment we all experience as gardeners and the major social and health aspect gardening plays in our daily lives.
Green Web Gardening is about involvement with our environment, our family and friends and the opportunity to share and discuss gardening achievements and ideas.
This site is not a site designed for people to have a cyberspace garden. It is totally the reverse. It is a place to come and get or contribute ideas and then get out in your garden to put them into practice.
Green Web Gardening also encourages the involvement of children in the garden. Through the ‘Garden of Life' project for the 1999 International Year of Older People Green Web Gardening will cover the importance of the health and social aspects of gardening.
Through publishers Hyland House we aim to bring you some of Australia's most knowledgeable authors and best read gardening books.
Rosemary Davies, one of those authors and one of Australia's most experienced horticulturalists and media commentators is featured in the Members area of Questions and Answers with a data base of the most commonly asked garden questions.
The weekly Green Web Gardening Column will be syndicated worldwide from AAP Newscast.
Green Web Gardening is to be officially launched in September and has released an Early Bird edition just to give you a taste of what is to come.
Like all gardeners we would like feedback.
We thank all of those people who have contributed to the site and shared our vision in making Green Web Gardening happen, including our untiring webmaster Jaryd Fletcher.
