Gardening for all of us.
One of the most under rated factors about gardening is the major part it plays in our social fabric internationally, nationally, at a neighbourhood level and of course a family and personal level.
Gardening is the most common past time of individuals with over 93 per cent of all residences having some type of garden.
Green Web Gardening believes the social aspects of gardening should receive wider acceptance and recognition.
For this reason we have included in our feature area special sections for Kids in the Garden, Family Gardening, Older Gardener's, and Gardening for the Disabled.
Kids in the Garden
One of the beaut things about gardening is the variety of chores, and the simple things which can give great pleasure such as watching seeds break through the soil.
As a life skills teaching environment for parents the garden provides the opportunity to talk to children and involve them in understanding their environment and a culture of care as they nurture their own plants.
Check out our children's section for activities and don't forget to Email us any ideas your think we should add.

Older Gardener's
Getting older is something we can't avoid, and one of our pleasures in retirement is to spend more time in our garden which many people have spent two to three decades creating.
The Green Web Gardening has created this special section for older persons in recognition of the International Year of Older Persons in 1999.
In particular we have devoted a special section to the issue which faces families when their parents cannot cope with the garden, or through illness or death of a partner they are faced with the hardest decision of moving from the family home.
This might seem a strange topic for a gardening site, but we felt it was important to raise in a social context and provide information and strategies for dealing with this often difficult and emotional time.

Safety in the Garden
Working in our gardens provides both good exercise and for many people a form of relaxation. A major survey of Australians recently found that only 3% disliked gardening and regarded it as a chore.
However, working in the garden like everything else we do should be undertaken with care for our own safety and safety of family and friends.
One of the issues we need to consider is the removal of hazards as a first issue to ensure our gardens provide a safe environment .
