The ____________________ has become a partner in ‘The Garden of Life', an innovative Internet program which aims to have grandchildren record their reflections of their grandparents gardening experiences on the Internet.
The Principal of ___________________________ today said, "the program is part of the School's contribution towards the 1999 International Year of Older Persons, providing a unique opportunity to involve grandparents in a personal and rewarding way with the Internet.
"Gardening is a major pastime for older persons which is often shared with grandchildren and the use of the Internet extends this involvement, with the print out of The Garden of Life specially designed certificate a permanent reminder for the grandparents of the project."
Mr Ron Smith, Managing Director of The Green Webb Pty. Ltd., an Australian based Internet and Communications company responsible for the project, said ‘The Garden of Life' program is also aimed at promoting the social importance of gardening for people of all ages and to recognise the important link it can provide between generations.
``The program is also designed to assist children and younger people appreciate the process of aging and the site includes a major statement on Gardening As We Age by Cara Rosehope, the author of ‘The Forever Garden'," Mr Smith said.
``The Garden of Life Schools program is based on providing classrooms around Australia and internationally with a personal snapshot of gardeners views and experiences."
