It was a warm morning and the sun shone brightly through the window of Freddo’s lilypad. “Cockle doddle doo” said Robert Rooster, “the day has begun.” (Click the picture of Robert Rooster) Freddo yawned and got out of bed. After having breakfast and brushing his teeth, Freddo put on his helmet and rode his bike down the lane. Today was the day that he was going to visit his friends at the zoo. As he was riding along, he heard a noise behind him. “Clip-clop, clip-clop” It was Henry Horse, racing down the lane. “Nay!” exclaimed Henry, “I am in a bit of a rush to get to work.” (Click the picture of Henry Horse) “Moo, slow down Henry, it’s better to be safe than sorry,” Mrs Mable MooCow said, Looking up from her meal.” (Click the picture of Mrs Mable Moocow) Henry came to a screaching halt as he rounded the corner. Sophie Sheep and her sisters were out in the lane wondering over to their other paddock. Henry could not stop in time and jumped over the fence to miss them. But on the other side of the fence was Farmer Floyd’s dam. “Sploosh” went Henry, straight into the dam. “Ha, ha, ha” said Sophie and her sisters at sopping wet Henry, “next time you should look before you leap!” (Click the picture of Sophie Sheep) Freddo stopped and helped Henry out of the dam. “Dear oh dear, Henry, that was a bigger leap than even I can do,” Freddo chuckled. Henry dried himself off and went on his way, a little wetter and wiser. continued on page 2 |
