Schools' Garden Awards 1998 Results

State Award Winners:

These Awards are valued at $600 each in addition to the $200 Regional Award previously announced.

Category 1:  Primary & Special Schools with 100 pupils or less

  • Ironbark Christian School

Category 2: Primary & Special Schools with 101 to 250 pupils

Category 3:  Primary & Special Schools with over 250 pupils
                    Joint Winners  each receive $600

  • Warragul North Primary School
  • Wodonga Primary School

Category 4 Post Primary Schools

  • Penola Catholic College Broadmeadows

Australian Unity Awards of Merit:

These Awards valued at $400 each in addition to the $200 Regional Award recognise the degree of difficulty existing in maintaining a high standard of school ground development and maintenance. Such factors as socio economic, soil and climatic conditions are taken into consideration.

The winners are :

    (1) Dhurringile Primary School

    (2) Moriac Primary School

    (3) Murchison Primary School

    (4) Murrayville Community College

Special Award:Valued at $300

The winner is Bayside Special Development School

For providing colourful raised gardens and a restful environment which caters for the needs of the students.
