The Junior School Council made recommendations for improvements to school garden areas. Children had installed irrigation systems to many garden beds.
Across the road was an area of approximately 2 acres, named Middle Gully, where the children created a Secret Garden in a mini forest area – cubby houses were the order of the day.
Middle Gully contained a number of interesting activities for the children including raising hens, a worm farm, vegetable garden, and a dam with an island in the middle containing lots of frogs.
The Year 6 children designed and constructed a hot house for the propagation of plants, and other grades helped to construct bird boxes, tree houses, and a scented garden track. Students also have camping experiences overnight at Middle Gully.
An active Buddy's program involves older students taking care of younger children.
